Marriage of Prophet Muhammad PBUH with Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A)

Prophet Muhammad PBUH was very handsome young man with firm looks, the brightness and glow of divinity on his (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) face would attract everyone and whoever met him (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) once would always wanted to meet him again and again. Prophet Muhammad PBUH was of medium built with fair skin, dark eyes, fully grown dark black hair,  Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s eye lashes were so dark that it would add more beauty to his physical features, a fully grown black beard, with little swirls in every hair perfectly matched to the tone of his skin bringing more radiance and glow to his (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) beautiful face. Prophet Muhammad PBUH was nor too short not too height, he (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) was perfectly well statured, any one who would approach Prophet Muhammad PBUH would always feel that he is shorter than him and even in large gathering one can see that Prophet Muhammad PBUH stood tall from every one. Prophet Muhammad PBUH would walk firmly on ground with his gaze lowered to ground. The face of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH looked so compassionate that every one would get attracted to him, Prophet Muhammad PBUH never lied and didn’t praised any one for what he is not, he always said truth, Prophet Muhammad PBUH would speak with compassion to everyone, his words uttered were so sweet and appealing that everyone would listen to Prophet Muhammad PBUH with much affection. The people of Makkah, be it rich or poor, young or old, held Prophet Muhammad PBUH in high esteem and respected him for he (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) had never wronged and always was humble and soft to everyone.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH was famous with the title of Ameen “ the trustworthy”given by the people of Makkah. Prophet Muhammad PBUH never ever touched wine and worshipped idols ever in his early or young age. Prophet Muhammad PBUH was never ever attracted to these incidents, which were common during those times in Makkah. Prophet Muhammad PBUH always felt sad whenever he would witness any one prostrate in front of the idols. Prophet Muhammad PBUH would go into solitude and question himself thinking that these peoples are worshipping those idols which they have made themselves and how would these people  return to the right path and understand the true sense of worshipping the one true God.

Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) summoned Maisoora to understand the dealings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH during his journey to Syria and also to know as to how did this caravan earn profit which was not the case ever in their lifetime. Maisoora informed Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A), Prophet Muhammad PBUH never considered any one to be low in status and treated every one with equal respect and Prophet Muhammad PBUH even had dined with them together. Prophet Muhammad PBUH was so considerate that he would listen to everyone so patiently that all in the caravan including Maisoora had a feeling that none of them is a slave. Further, Maisoora added that wherever Prophet Muhammad PBUH went, a cloud would surmount him as if it is providing shade from the soaring sun. Maisoora also informed about the incidence and foretelling of the priest that no one can rest under the tree specified in Basra except for a Prophet, which he had read in his books about the coming of the last and final prophet, the signs and the characters which were asked to Maisoora about Prophet Muhammad PBUH by the priest. Maisoora kept on saying about the good qualities of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, the way he interacted with people and also about his fair dealing with the merchants in the fair.

Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) after listening to Maisoora, thought of getting married to Prophet Muhammad PBUH, though Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) didn’t want to marry as many of the leaders of Makkah had already proposed for marriage. Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) denied all the proposals, but owing to the good qualities & humbleness of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) now had a yearning that she should marry Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Many scholars of Islam do have emphasised on the decision of Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) of marrying Prophet Muhammad PBUH as Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) was one of the greatest thinkers and a visionary, who had foreseen that marrying Prophet Muhammad PBUH would certainly bring her more glad tidings in this world and the hereafter. The prophecies of the last & final Prophet of Allah were known to many scholars of Jews, Christians of that time by their books and certainly the endurance, trustworthiness, humbleness of Prophet Muhammad PBUH were also seen by the people of Makkah at that time, but these went unnoticed by all of them except for Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A), who had foreseen what was coming to her by marrying Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Many of the great scholars are of the opinion that this world has produced many great men, who were able visionaries and thinkers, but there are only few women who had the farsightedness and Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) was one of them, it is also opined that history of mankind has recorded great women such as  Hazrat Bibi Asiya (A.S), wife of Hazrat Musa (A.S) PBUH and Hazrat Bibi Mariyam (A.S), mother of Isa (A.S) PBUH. All of them were certain about their destinies in this world and hereafter, and they were well aware of the glad tidings they would receive in this world and hereafter.

Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) summoned a woman called Nafisa, who use to arrange marriage and expressed her willingness to marry Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Bibi Hazrat Khadeeja (R.A) also informed Nafisa to take the proposal of marriage to Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Nafisa approached Prophet Muhammad PBUH and enquired if he (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) has any plans of marriage, to that Prophet Muhammad PBUH replied that he would like to marry but his condition at present is not so good as he himself is living with his paternal uncle, and Prophet Muhammad PBUH also informed who will marry a orphan who is not well settled. To this, Nafisa said what are your (Prophet Muhammad ’s PBUH) thoughts about Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A), Prophet Muhammad PBUH replied that she is a pious lady and of good character and nature, but she is so wealthy and why would she consider me (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) in her marriage. Nafisa finally informed Prophet Muhammad PBUH that it is Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) who had sent her with a message that she is interested in marriage with Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Prophet Muhammad PBUH accepted the proposal which Nafisa had brought and informed the same to his paternal uncle Hazrat Abu Talib and Prophet Muhammad PBUH along with Hazrat Abu Talib and few others went to the house of Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A). Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) had also invited some of her known people to the marriage. Finally, marriage of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A) was solemnised by Hazrat Abu Talib and one of the relatives of Hazrat Bibi Khadeeja (R.A).
